Within her paintings, Tania Rutland draws upon the subject matter of cloth/fabric, and its tangibility - as well as using it as a metaphor for life. She interested in numerous facets of fabric such as the grain, weave, thread, etc. and whether the condition is worn, threadbare or flawed. From the subject matter, Tania tries to exact a subtle beauty which allows the viewer to bring their own thoughts and feelings to the work. Tania studied a Masters in Printmaking at the Royal College of Art, and completed a Cheltenham Fine Art Fellowship. She has exhibited widely in London and her locality of Brighton, and received additional accolades such as the Princes Trust Award.
