The Artist: Amanda Page

Amanda Page's contemporary renditions of animals derive from a sympathy with the subject married to a strong artistic sensibility. The discipline behind Amanda's work is a graphic design training. Hers is a contemporary style, using unorthodox methods with a passion for colour and no superfluity of line. Amanda says, 'I find constant inspiration from the moods, shapes and hues of my environment. The vantage point of a home on a hill provides stunning views of the Kent countryside. My paintings do not display direct and identifiable interpretations of these panoramas but the influences are apparent with an inclination towards natural subjects. I have painted sheep and chickens for many years. I have a collection of free-range geese, chickens and ducks and two guardian llamas'. 'Every morning I look through a window and see an animated painting before me instigating an undeniable urge to pick up a brush and begin'. These pieces are sure to enliven any interior with the same vigour as their creator.
