Using an unusual range of materials including plastic, paper and soap, Richard Green's work is strongly materials-based, and posesses an ambiguity between medium, material and image which is not always readily achieved. Richard explains; 'Although I have some intimation of how the results might appear, there is always an essential ingredient of chance or luck which plays a major role in the creation of a final image'. The work evolves in series, in which slight variations in the layering and arrangement of the subject matter produce significant and unforseen qualities, and which embues his images with their enigmatic character. Richard graduated in Fine Art at Falmouth School of Art, and has taken part in several group exhibitions in the UK. His work is held in the Cabo Frio print archive in Brazil, and in private collections in London and Berlin.
